Was so motivated that I made another lamp (this one covering a glass jar with candle) using the same fine merino and silk.

After a recent workshop by an amazing fibre artist, Fiona Duthie at The Grampians in Victoria, I  finally  completed this lamp made from soft merino wool and silk. Lovely when illuminated at night and in the day it takes on a completely different look. Rather Scandinavian I think.

First day of Winter. I couldn't resist showing more photos of my garden with it's red cloak falling to the ground, covering the mundane.

It was minus 1 degree here yesterday morning -- warmer today, a mild 1 degree  but both mornings followed by glorious, still, sunny days. Well worth climbing out of bed for!

Well the beautiful autumn colours of Honour Avenue have all but gone. This year we have had hundreds (truly) of visitors admiring the trees and throwing leaves above their heads to be photographed. Beautiful young women in their kimonos and Korean brides - all just gorgeous! It's been lovely to see such admiration and appreciation of nature. Below is my photograph to show what it's been like when the trees are at their best.

This is a community exhibition of creative footwear for the Woodend Winter Arts Festival in June.  Thought I would see what I could do with a pair of black suede stilettos and decided to cover the shoes with an old dressmaking pattern and some encaustic medium, glued a few hundred pins onto the heels, added some ostrich feathers, black Chanel ribbon and Voila!  "The Dressmaker's Shoes" were born! I definitely will not be going dancing in them anymore.

(Note to self: have I unleashed a Pandora's box by starting a blog?)
